From that day on Fader and Saucy have worked every-damn-day as funktopic missionaries, striving in their own small way, jus to make a difference, man.

Originating from Sydney, Australia Beni got his start in the industry with outfit The Bang Gang Deejays. He later formed Riot in Belgium with Joel Dickson of Cut Copy. Since Riot in Belgium disbanded in 2008, Beni has gone on to produce solo, with remixes for artists including Sneaky Sound System and Digitalism, and the label Kitsuné. It was only time before he moved onto his own releases, his first solo original being “My Love Sees You” in November 2008, with his current stomper ‘Maximus’ taking the world by storm.

This week:…we have YUKSEK!! Yuksek was born in 1977 and spent his adolescence practising piano several hours a day at music school before realising that “the only job I could get was as a music teacher.” He was convinced that there had to be some other path to take. A fan of pop music, raised on The Beatles and Gainsbourg, amazed by the early West Coast rap of NWA and De La Soul and – above all – stunned in his early secondary school years by Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (the beginning of a chain of events that would eventually lead him to Lou Reed’s “Transformer”, what he calls “the unequalled summit of modern music”), he grew up to be an intrepid lad who decided, age 17, to stop the studying and start the adventure. Originally with Birdy Nam Nam’s label and wunderkind of the blogs, Yuksek has since crafted some of the dirtiest, most inspired remixes of hits by Mika, Kaiser Chiefs, Ghostface Killah (Wu Tang Clan), French rapper Booba, Tahiti 80… His fiery live sets, where Yuksek’s svelte, supple physique swoops between his vintage keyboards and FX board, have set alight concert venues, clubs and festivals. Now, the suave musician - anything but a clubber, strangely enough - is poised to let loose his first album, packed full of future hits called “Tonight”, “Extraball” and “I Like To Play”….but not before he unleashes his sound unto us! This is PART 1.

This week:…we have ATOMIC HOOLIGAN!!
They fuse electro, indie, Hip Hop and breaks with ease, truly trying to push the sound further than simply breaks.
‘Sex, Drugs & Blah Blah Blah’ is a step beyond their last album ‘You Are Here’; with new vocalists, new live instrumentation, and a new outlook on music, the Hooligans have outdone themselves again.
After gracing the cover of DJ mag in 2006, Atomic Hooligan have grown from strength to strength. The LIVE show has rocked heads from Glastonbury to The Secret Garden festival amongst other major festivals and clubs all over the UK, Europe and Japan. And the DJ schedule has been non stop, as 2007 saw them rock parties in Japan, China, New Zealand, Brazil, Australia, Russia, Canada and all over the UK and Europe including regular spots at the worlds most admired club Fabric.
The band have now put together their latest incarnation of the live show, featuring the vocalists from the new album and after winning the accolade of Best Live act 2008 at last years International Breaks awards (with the Hooligans show aired LIVE on RADIO1), the shows are selling out fast.
Their hectic DJ schedule has always been due in part to the guy’s impressive remix catalogue. More recently remixing for the likes of Groove Armada, Tomcraft, The James Brown Band and Sony rock hopefuls Dune aswell as past outings with their multiple manipulations of classic Underworld tracks, including the firm favourite Born Slippy. They also put their guaranteed dance floor smash stamp of approval on ILS’s Lovin U.
With a whole bunch of fresh music about to be unleashed and a DJ and live schedule which is already booking them out months in advance, the Hooligan phenomenon continues to spread.
