Originating from Sydney, Australia Beni got his start in the industry with outfit The Bang Gang Deejays. He later formed Riot in Belgium with Joel Dickson of Cut Copy. Since Riot in Belgium disbanded in 2008, Beni has gone on to produce solo, with remixes for artists including Sneaky Sound System and Digitalism, and the label Kitsuné. It was only time before he moved onto his own releases, his first solo original being “My Love Sees You” in November 2008, with his current stomper ‘Maximus’ taking the world by storm.

This week:…we have YUKSEK!! Yuksek was born in 1977 and spent his adolescence practising piano several hours a day at music school before realising that “the only job I could get was as a music teacher.” He was convinced that there had to be some other path to take. A fan of pop music, raised on The Beatles and Gainsbourg, amazed by the early West Coast rap of NWA and De La Soul and – above all – stunned in his early secondary school years by Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (the beginning of a chain of events that would eventually lead him to Lou Reed’s “Transformer”, what he calls “the unequalled summit of modern music”), he grew up to be an intrepid lad who decided, age 17, to stop the studying and start the adventure. Originally with Birdy Nam Nam’s label and wunderkind of the blogs, Yuksek has since crafted some of the dirtiest, most inspired remixes of hits by Mika, Kaiser Chiefs, Ghostface Killah (Wu Tang Clan), French rapper Booba, Tahiti 80… His fiery live sets, where Yuksek’s svelte, supple physique swoops between his vintage keyboards and FX board, have set alight concert venues, clubs and festivals. Now, the suave musician - anything but a clubber, strangely enough - is poised to let loose his first album, packed full of future hits called “Tonight”, “Extraball” and “I Like To Play”….but not before he unleashes his sound unto us! A fan of pop music, raised on The Beatles and Gainsbourg, amazed by the early West Coast rap of NWA and De La Soul and – above all – stunned in his early secondary school years by Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (the beginning of a chain of events that would eventually lead him to Lou Reed’s “Transformer”, what he calls “the unequalled summit of modern music”), he grew up to be an intrepid lad who decided, age 17, to stop the studying and start the adventure. Originally with Birdy Nam Nam’s label and wunderkind of the blogs, Yuksek has since crafted some of the dirtiest, most inspired remixes of hits by Mika, Kaiser Chiefs, Ghostface Killah (Wu Tang Clan), French rapper Booba, Tahiti 80… His fiery live sets, where Yuksek’s svelte, supple physique swoops between his vintage keyboards and FX board, have set alight concert venues, clubs and festivals. Now, the suave musician - anything but a clubber, strangely enough - is poised to let loose his first album, packed full of future hits called “Tonight”, “Extraball” and “I Like To Play”….but not before he unleashes his sound unto us! ‘Sex, Drugs & Blah Blah Blah’ is a step beyond their last album ‘You Are Here’; with new vocalists, new live instrumentation, and a new outlook on music, the Hooligans have outdone themselves again.
After gracing the cover of DJ mag in 2006, Atomic Hooligan have grown from strength to strength. The LIVE show has rocked heads from Glastonbury to The Secret Garden festival amongst other major festivals and clubs all over the UK, Europe and Japan. And the DJ schedule has been non stop, as 2007 saw them rock parties in Japan, China, New Zealand, Brazil, Australia, Russia, Canada and all over the UK and Europe including regular spots at the worlds most admired club Fabric.
The band have now put together their latest incarnation of the live show, featuring the vocalists from the new album and after winning the accolade of Best Live act 2008 at last years International Breaks awards (with the Hooligans show aired LIVE on RADIO1), the shows are selling out fast.
Their hectic DJ schedule has always been due in part to the guy’s impressive remix catalogue. More recently remixing for the likes of Groove Armada, Tomcraft, The James Brown Band and Sony rock hopefuls Dune aswell as past outings with their multiple manipulations of classic Underworld tracks, including the firm favourite Born Slippy. They also put their guaranteed dance floor smash stamp of approval on ILS’s Lovin U.
With a whole bunch of fresh music about to be unleashed and a DJ and live schedule which is already booking them out months in advance, the Hooligan phenomenon continues to spread.

Over the past few years, Jagz has built himself a reputation as one of the most important UK producer/remixers. His particular and completely unique take on twisted electronica, saw him crowned XFM’s 2003 Remixer of the Year. Jagz has produced the Radio 4 album “Enemies Like This” for Astralwerks. The record was recorded in the heart of Brooklyn and mixed back at Jagz’s Studio Echoplex. In 2005 Jagz produced The Infadels album We Are Not The Infadels. Jagz has also worked with Primal Scream for many years and produced tracks for the albums XTRMNTR, Evil Heat and Dirty Hits.
2007 certainly established Jagz Kooner as one of the most exciting producers around. His production work for Reverend And The Makers saw the band achieve top ten singles sales and gold album sales for “The State Of Things”.
He has remixed two tracks for Oasis album”Dig Out Your Soul”and has also in 2008 added his particular production genius to various tracks on the new Primal Scream album and begun working with the electro pop band Mancini on their debut album. His formidable remix credits include singles by Kasabian, The Kills, Freeland, The Charlatans , Primal Scream, Ladytron and Soulwax…..to name but a few.

This week:...we have JAGZ KOONER!! Over the past few years, Jagz has built himself a reputation as one of the most important UK producer/remixers. His particular and completely unique take on twisted electronica, saw him crowned XFM's 2003 Remixer of the Year. Jagz has produced the Radio 4 album "Enemies Like This" for Astralwerks. The record was recorded in the heart of Brooklyn and mixed back at Jagz's Studio Echoplex. In 2005 Jagz produced The Infadels album We Are Not The Infadels. Jagz has also worked with Primal Scream for many years and produced tracks for the albums XTRMNTR, Evil Heat and Dirty Hits. 2007 certainly established Jagz Kooner as one of the most exciting producers around. His production work for Reverend And The Makers saw the band achieve top ten singles sales and gold album sales for "The State Of Things”. He has remixed two tracks for Oasis album"Dig Out Your Soul"and has also in 2008 added his particular production genius to various tracks on the new Primal Scream album and begun working with the electro pop band Mancini on their debut album. His formidable remix credits include singles by Kasabian, The Kills, Freeland, The Charlatans , Primal Scream, Ladytron and Soulwax…..to name but a few. Imagine someone, after having started his time machine, flies over the mountains and valleys of music history at bright sunlight and his dog snatching at everything that looks somehow interesting. A little bit of 1984, a little taste of 2011 and a long, extended free flight over 1990. At a time when the human voice was replaced by bleeps and clonks and bands like LFO ruled the roost! It is rumoured that Rex is an alias of Jake Williams who had a slew of top ten hits in Europe in the early ’90s, namely JX ‘Son of a Gun.. Others claim Rex is a German electro/techno producer, or a super intelligent mutant dog. Regardless of his exact identity, Rex The Dog is a reference to the Rex the Wonder Dog cartoon series that was created by DC Comics in the ’50s. His recent back catalogue includes remixes for The Knife, Depeche Mode, Mylo, The Prodigy and Soulwax. And he makes wacky retro analogue all out stomping electro! WOOF WOOF!! This is PART 1.

Thompson of DJs, James Lavelle’s career has spanned the last 18 years, and currently he remains as individual a figure in contemporary music as he was as a teenager, when he first gate-crashed his way in with the genre-shattering MoWax Records. Lavelle now divides time between his internationally-renowned DJ career, his UNKLE act, film projects, remixes, and a brand new independent set-up: Surrender-All, which combines music, fashion and art. In 2007 UNKLE released their third album, War Stories, which followed the worldwide success of 1998¹s Psyence Fiction and 2003¹s Never, Never, Land and once again found the collective drawing on rock, electronic and beat-driven music in new ways. Known in the past for his collaborations with DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke, Ian Brown, Richard Ashcroft, Badly Drawn Boy, The Beastie Boys and more, War Stories continues the tradition with collaborations from Josh Homme (Queens of The Stone Age), Ian Astbury (The Cult) and 3D (Massive Attack). UK DJ and producer Adam Freeland is one of the Big Beat Electo Rock Legends. As a DJ & Remixer he operates solo under his own full name.
As a producer, he formed half of Tsunami One with Kevin Beber, and is also part of the live band ‘Freeland’.
PLUS, he is the owner / creative director of record label Marine Parade, which has released material by artists including Evil Nine, ILS, Alex Metric and Jape.
In 1996 he released the Coastal Breaks album. Since then Adam has released the Tectonics, On Tour and Global Underground mix albums, as well as a FabricLive mix, and groundbreaking Back To Mine.
His debut artist album Now and Them, released in 2003, relied on influences from punk, hip hop, electro, dub, reggae and rock. It featured the hit record ‘We Want Your Soul’, with his remix of Sarah Vaughan’s ‘Fever’ nominated for a Grammy and his personally requested mix of The Doors ‘Hello, I Love You’ receiving critical acclaim.
His latest artist album as live band Freeland is Cope™ and is out NOW, and features Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe playing drums, Alex Metric co-produced it, Twiggy Ramirez plays bass. Joey Santiago of The Pixies and Tony Bevilacqua of Distillers / Spinnerette play guitar.
